“あひるさんとにわとりさんはなかよし　１ お三時に紅茶をのみました。にわとりさんはちびちびと。あひるさんはがぶがぶと。これは二人の生れつきだがら、どうにもしかたがございません。　２ あひるさんのお茶わんは、すぐからっぽになりました。あんまり早くのみすぎて、まだまだたりません。　３ それを見たにわとりさんは、まだ一杯あるので、半分だけ、わけてあげました。　４ あとで、にわとりさんが砂遊びをしたくて、『うらの庭へ砂いじりにいこうよ。』といいましたら、あひるさんは水あそびがしたかったけれど、『うん、いゝとも。』といって、うらの庭へいきました。ふたりは今日は朝から、とてもなかがよろしいのです。”
